Privacy

In short: the camera only sees how you move, the pictures never leave your computer, and we collect nothing about you, except what a purchase in the browser needs.

The camera

Off the Couch uses your camera so your body can control the games, in the Mac app and in the browser. Each picture is looked at on your own computer, straight away, to find where your arms, head and body are, and then thrown away. Pictures are never saved, never recorded and never sent anywhere: not to us, and not to anyone else.

What stays on your computer

The games keep a few small things so they remember them next time: your stars, the stickers you have, your best scores, your sound and music settings, and whether you have unlocked all the games. The Mac app keeps them on your Mac; in the browser they're kept in your browser's storage for this website. They are not sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app, or clearing this website's data in your browser, deletes them.

What we collect

Nothing, unless you buy in the browser (see below). There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and this website uses no cookies and doesn't count visitors.

Buying

• In the Mac app, "Unlock all games" is bought through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details.
• In the browser, the order is handled by Paddle.com, our online reseller. Paddle collects your payment details and email address under its own privacy notice, and shares with us your email address, country and order details. We use them only to unlock your games, answer your emails and handle refunds. We never see your card details.

The website and the game engine

This website is hosted by GitHub, which keeps standard records of visits (such as IP addresses) for security, as described in GitHub's privacy statement. The games are made with Unity, which may receive basic, anonymous technical details about your computer (such as its model and system version) when a game starts. This is never linked to you and never includes camera pictures.

Children

We collect no personal information from anyone, including children. Purchases in the browser should be made by an adult.
